Is Everifin a bank?

No but Everifin is regulated by ACPR Bank of France as a licensed 3rd party company eligible to provide financial services in the EU.

How is Everifin regulated?

Everifin is following the EU regulation called PSD2.

What is PSD2?

Payment Service Directive 2 is a new EU regulation initiated by the European Commission. It makes banks obliged to enable the licensed party to access data of banks' clients, if they consent.

What is the purpose of PSD2?

The purpose of the revised Payment Service Directive (PSD2) is to promote innovation, competition and efficiency in the European banking market and to modernize payment services in Europe for the benefit of consumers and businesses alike. It aims in particular to improve transparency, data sharing and consumers' rights and to reduce payment processes' costs.

When was PSD2 initiated?

Since 14th September 2019, all banks must provide PSD2 APIs to clients, who want to access their financial data through regulated third parties.

What countries are subject to PSD2?

All EEA (European Economic Area) countries that include EU countries + Norway, Liechtenstein and Iceland.

What license does Everifin have?

PSD2 regulation defines two types of licenses, based on which the third parties can provide financial services while the client has the funds still deposited at his banks. AISP (account information service provider) and PISP (payment initiation service provider). Everifin obtained AISP and PISP license.

How can Everifin cooperate with so many banks?

You can instruct the bank that you want to access your data via Everifin. Based on PSD2, the bank must provide access as long as Everifin has a valid license. No questions asked, no extra agreements needed.

Does Everifin hold my money?

Your money is always at the bank and never in possession of Everifin. Everifin can only show your accounts and transactions and initiate payments which you authorise inside of your banks.

Is it secure to share my details?

Everifin does not process or store your bank access credentials (such as bank usernames, passwords or biometry). When you are connecting to your bank accounts, you are asked to authenticate on their website. The bank will then inform Everifin if your bank login was successful or not.

Do you store my banking data?

Your login credentials are never stored on our servers. Your transaction data, balance, and other data you share with Everifin is stored using state-of-the-art encryption so that you can use the app. To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have physical, electronic and operational measures in place, which secure the user information that we hold. We have run appropriate penetration and security tests to ensure your data is protected using bank grade security.

Do you sell my data?

No.

How many bank accounts do you support?

Do you also support business accounts?

Yes. You can view all your bank accounts in one place with Everifin.

What if I want to delete my account?

You can delete your account at any point. We will remove your data from our systems in accordance with data protection regulations.

If I delete my account, what happens to my data?

Your personal data is deleted in accordance with general data protection regulations (GDPR).
